According to the Gothamist, a City Hall spokesperson said the executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande, Sister Norma Pimentel, invited the mayor to visit her team at the Texas border.
The publication reported that Adams first visited the southern border in January of last year when he went to El Paso, Texas, to assess the city's handling of migrants.
