In response on Instagram, 50 Cent dismissed the proposal and insulted Mamdani, expressing frustration at the perceived attack on his wealth, and making a controversial remark about giving the candidate money for a one-way ticket out of New York.
Mamdani stated, 'I know if 50 Cent is listening, he's not going to be happy about this. It's about $20,000 a year. It's a rounding error.'
In response, 50 Cent expressed, 'Where did he come from? I'm not feeling this plan. I will give him $258,750 and a first-class one-way ticket away from NY.'
50 Cent also criticized the mayoral candidate, stating, 'FUCK NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don't care Trump's opinion about black people.'
Regarding the tax increases, Mamdani said, 'My goal is to raise $10 billion to Trump-proof New York City.'
