A mass shooting occurred at Taste of the City Lounge in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, leaving three people dead and nine injured. The attack transpired around 3:30 a.m. after a dispute within the venue. Victims included a 19-year-old male who died on the scene, with two others pronounced dead at hospitals. Police recovered 42 shell casings and a firearm nearby, but no direct link to the shooting has been established. Multiple suspects opened fire around 3:30 a.m. at Taste of the City Lounge, located off Franklin Avenue in the Crown Heights neighborhood, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed early Sunday morning.
Victims ranged in age from 19 to 61, the commissioner said. The youngest, a 19-year-old male, died at the scene.
Crisis management teams had been mobilized to provide trauma services and facilitate mediation efforts with the victims' friends and families to try to stop any retaliation.
It is believed that there were up to four shooters involved in this incident.
