A dangerous incident involving kite string left two New Yorkers, Jennifer Noble and Robert Hillebrand, severely injured on the Marine Parkway Bridge. Noble crashed into an invisible kite string, suffering gruesome injuries to her face and hand. Hillebrand was also injured, sustaining a deep throat cut that has led to hospitalization. The victims received immediate help from bystanders. Noble suggested the kite string was likely made for "fight kites," emphasizing the risk involved with such materials. Both are dealing with ongoing medical issues and significant financial burdens due to their injuries.
Noble believes the string was attached to a so-called "fight kite," where the string is a very sharp, abrasive line sometimes coated with crushed glass.
"There was just so much blood" Noble said. "It looked like a movie. Like it looked fake. There was just so much blood."
Noble said good Samaritans sprang into action, bandaged her finger and applied pressure to her friend's neck.
Her friend, Robert Hillebrand, remains hospitalized. Noble said the entrepreneur has a long road ahead.
