On April 3, police in Brooklyn arrested two individuals for gun-related offenses. Eighteen-year-old Jayden Velasquez was arrested in Williamsburg and charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration. Later that day, twenty-four-year-old Jeremiah Marks was arrested near a school in Bed-Stuy, also charged with multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon. The NYPD reported a total of 913 gun arrests citywide for the year.
