Suffolk County police officers delivered a baby girl on Sunrise Highway amidst a storm after responding to a 911 call about an expectant mother in labor. The new officers, Joseph Lacey, Brendan Nappi, and Jonathan Verity, assisted the 37-year-old woman while she was huddled in her car. Following their successful delivery, the baby was wrapped in a blanket just before EMS arrived to transport both mother and child to a nearby hospital, where they were reported to be healthy.
All three officers had just graduated from the Suffolk County Police Academy on Friday, showcasing their quick response in a critical situation.
