Staten Island community to benefit from $30K Spectrum grant
Briefly

Spectrum is investing in technology education on Staten Island by providing a $30,000 grant to the Public Housing Community Fund. This funding will support three cohorts of the Youth Tech Corps: Intergenerational Connections program, focusing on enhancing digital literacy and engagement among residents. Over 10 weeks, youth participants will collaborate with adult leaders to address technology needs in public housing. The initiative also includes essential resources like laptops and stipends, aiming to empower residents and support community-driven digital solutions.
"Connectivity is the foundation for meaningful learning, professional growth and human connection, and helps to build strong, thriving communities," said Mike Williams, Regional Vice President of the NYC Region for Spectrum.
"Through hands-on learning, participants expand their understanding of technology and its applications, and youth explore career paths," said Claire McLeveighn, Chief Strategic Engagement Officer at Public Housing Community Fund.
