Six dead in upstate NY plane crash include NCAA woman of the year, family members
Briefly

A tragic plane crash in upstate New York claimed the lives of all six individuals on board, including a family of physicians and accomplished student athletes. The aircraft went down shortly after midday in Copake, killing former MIT soccer player Karenna Groff, her parents, and her boyfriend. Their trip was meant to celebrate Karenna's 25th birthday and Passover. Known for her contributions during COVID-19 and for receiving the NCAA Woman of the Year award, Groff's unexpected passing left the community mourning the loss of promising lives.
They were a wonderful family. The world lost a lot of very good people who were going to do a lot of good for the world if they had the opportunity.
Really, this recognition is a testament to my MIT women's soccer family and all of the guidance, support, and friendship they have provided for me over the years.
