Private NYC special ed school owes $800K in legal fees over sex harass, health violations: suit
Briefly

iBRAIN, a private special education school, is being sued for allegedly defaulting on $800,000 in legal fees related to sexual harassment and health violations. The school claims the inability to pay stems from a larger $6 million in funding owed by New York City's Department of Education. Although iBRAIN has made a partial payment of $81,000 to its legal counsel, Pryor Cashman, they still owe a significant amount. Legal issues included a former employee's disparagement and health violations, while allegations of poor sanitary conditions in the school were made in court.
Despite Pryor Cashman's repeated good faith attempts to obtain payment from iBrain, iBrain has failed and refused to make payment.
The allegations against iBrain include skipping out on significant legal fees while contending that delays in payment stem from funding owed by the city's Department of Education.
