Harold Court Primary School has proposed to establish a nursery for three- and four-year-olds, slated to open in September. The nursery will replace a now-closed independent nursery, which created a local shortage of available places. Acting headteacher Wendy Donnelly-Symes indicated that the current structure is deteriorating and will be replaced with a new modular unit. This initiative aims to enrich educational services, provide structured learning, support parents returning to work, and create job opportunities within the community. Consultations are underway to gather feedback from the community before moving forward with planning permissions.
Wendy Donnelly-Symes, acting headteacher, emphasized the ambitious nature of the project, stating that it aims to enhance educational offerings and positively impact Church Road's aesthetic.
The school aims to provide structured play and learning sessions, facilitating a smooth transition for children into primary education, and supporting working parents with nursery provision.
