The Carol Pino Learning Farm held its Community Plant Giveaway event on May 7, showcasing nearly finished grounds to the community. District Manager Sue Ann Partnow reflected on the farm's origins, initiated by Carol Pino and former Councilmember Alan Maisel over a decade ago. District 22 Superintendent Julia Bove highlighted the ongoing efforts and gratitude towards community support. Despite the preview, more work remains to fulfill the vision. The event was a collaborative effort and drew gratitude from officials for community patience and involvement during the development of the farm.
"It's the first time that it has been open to the public since they have been building. It's a true labor of love."
"We were very fortunate that we planted a lot of seeds and they all took so we wanted to thank the community for their patience and for their support."
