Nathaniel Radimak, previously convicted for road rage assaults in California, allegedly attacked Diane Ung and her daughter in Kakaako, Hawaii, after being confronted for speeding. During a parking lesson, Radimak nearly hit Ung and, provoked, turned back to confront the victims. He assaulted the 18-year-old and then attacked Ung, leaving her injured. Radimak, who only served 10 months of a five-year sentence for previous offenses, highlights concerns over escalating violent behavior when offenders face inadequate consequences, as noted by a local defense attorney.
Had my coffee in my hand, my ice coffee from McDonald's, threw it at his car and he came running across the street, struck me like a Superman punch right inside my face.
When you get away with something bad, your actions only escalate, and we see that here, said Honolulu defense attorney Megan Kau.
