New Jersey is currently facing heightened wildfire risks as the Pine Barrens blaze, believed to have been ignited by a negligent teenager, is about 60% contained, having consumed 15,300 acres. The National Weather Service warns of conditions that may facilitate rapid fire spread. Despite recent efforts to manage the situation, including the arrest of a suspect, temperatures nearing 80 degrees and low humidity could lead to further fire risks. Damages thus far include a commercial building and multiple vehicles, but fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.

There is an increased risk for rapid fire spread this afternoon across portions of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania,
