Exclusive | Jewish NYC student bombarded with antisemitic hate after she announces plans to study in Israel
Briefly

A senior at an NYC elite high school faced severe backlash after announcing her commitment to Tel Aviv University, resulting in the school's college-decision social media account being taken down. The announcement drew a torrent of antisemitic comments from classmates, including references to Hitler and claims about the university being built on genocide. The student, a leader in the Jewish student union, expressed that the hostility, ignited by the recent Hamas attacks, is affecting the entire Jewish community within her school, although she wasn't entirely surprised by the reaction.
"It's not only really affecting me, but the whole Jewish community at school," the 17-year-old told The Post.
"I was caught off guard but I'm not totally surprised because this has happened with my school before," said the senior.
The senior stated, "Man with mustache was right," referring to Adolf Hitler, which was one of the most disturbing comments she received.
The school's college-decision Instagram page had to be taken down due to the overwhelming hate comments following her announcement.
