Christopher Ellis was wrongfully convicted of murder at 20, coerced into a confession after an 18-hour interrogation. Despite an alibi, he was convicted based on his confession and a single witness. He served 31 years in prison, losing significant time with his family. After learning about a witness who could exonerate him, he filed a lawsuit against Nassau County and detectives for withholding evidence that could have cleared him.
