In April 2024, the Brooklyn Children's Museum honors the Month of the Military Child by offering free admission to military families in partnership with Blue Star Families. This initiative allows up to five family members entry with a valid military ID to participate in various child-focused activities, including hands-on exhibits designed to promote social, emotional, and physical development. The Earth Rocks! Spring Break festival also features unique activities like meeting live tarantulas, art creation, and STEM workshops throughout the month.
Resilience is embodied by military and veteran families, especially their incredible children. We're committed to creating a welcoming space... alongside other families.
Throughout the month, military families can enjoy complimentary access to the museum's interactive exhibits and programs aimed at fostering children's social, emotional and physical development.
During New York City's DOE Spring Recess, visitors can engage in hands-on activities, including meeting live tarantulas, building food-powered batteries, potting gardens and creating art from recycled materials.
Families can create Earth Home sculptures using clay, sticks and natural materials to explore themes of home and history.
