BREAKING: Preston High School saved from closure in $8.5M deal with Bally's Foundation - Bronx Times
Briefly

Preston High School in the Bronx will remain open thanks to a deal struck on April 22, where Bally's Foundation will purchase the property's waterfront location. The agreement, facilitated by Attorney General Letitia James following community advocacy, allows the school to lease back the property at an affordable rate while receiving funding for improvements. This ensures Preston's continued operation as an independent all-girls institution that has served the community since 1947.
Preston High School is a pillar of the Bronx community that has educated generations of young women, and today I am proud to announce that the school will stay open for years to come.
Under the April 22 agreement, Bally's Foundation will purchase Preston's waterfront property for $8.5 million, lease it back to the school for $1 per year on a 25-year lease with five-year renewals.
