The child had just broken away from his mother, who was chasing after him when he was hit by the driver of a Ford SUV on Rockaway Parkway near Linden Blvd. in East Flatbush about 11:10 a.m."
"Panicked witnesses picked up the child and rushed him into Brookdale University Hospital, where he died. The boy was struck right outside the hospital. Witnesses told police that child was running in the street east on the parkway toward Church Ave. when he was hit."
"It wasn't immediately clear if the driver realized somebody was struck, officials said. Cops were scouring the area for surveillance footage so they could track the SUV's path."
