Alamo Drafthouse NYC Workers End Strike After Laid Off Staffers Rehired
Briefly

Workers at two Alamo Drafthouse cinemas in New York City concluded a 58-day strike, having reached an agreement with the chain that includes the rehiring of laid-off employees and restoration of their previously accrued paid time off and sick days. This mobilization involved UAW-affiliated union members who protested against what they perceived as unfair labor practices following widespread layoffs in February. The tentative agreement emphasized preserving worker seniority and highlights successful bargaining efforts amidst the backdrop of union-led accusations against Alamo and its parent company Sony Pictures Entertainment.
An overwhelming majority of workers ratified a tentative offer from Alamo said to guarantee workers will be rehired with previously earned paid time off and sick days restored along with original seniority and hire date.
We will be returning to work officially on April 18 but feel free to start patronizing the Alamos in BK & Manhattan,
After 58 days on strike, the workers of NYC Alamo United successfully negotiated for the rehiring of 70 employees and the restoration of their previous benefits.
Thank you to everyone who supported - all who donated, all who shared, all who showed up, all who boycotted.
