The Brooklyn Mirage just announced its first-ever resident artist
Briefly

Black Coffee, the renowned South African DJ and producer, is set to be the first-ever resident artist at Brooklyn Mirage this summer after its recent renovations. With a career marked by Grammy wins and notable collaborations with artists like Drake and Usher, Black Coffee's presence promises to revitalize the venue and its neighborhood. His unique sound blends Afropolitan music—a fusion of techno, African beats, jazz, and R&B—inviting energetic and chill performances. His residency spans four dates from May to October 2025, featuring advanced graphics in an immersive virtual environment.
New York has always been a special place for me and one of the most exciting crowds to come and spread love with. I’m honored to hold the first-ever residency at the Brooklyn Mirage, but even more so excited to make the newly revamped venue my NYC home for four dates in 2025.
A residency of this magnitude is likely going to breathe new life into the neighborhood and venue, bringing a more consistent fanbase to the renovated space.
Black Coffee first became known in the scene for blending a genre known as 'Afropolitan'-a mix of techno and African beats-with jazz and R&B to create a sound that is mostly chill but can also crescendo into high energy, ecstatic sets.
Expect the experience to feature graphics across the venue’s hyper-realistic 270-degree virtual environment, including 30K resolution, 100 million pixels and over 3,000 tiles.
