Kevin Parker surprised fans by debuting a new Tame Impala song during a DJ set at the Nitsa Club in Barcelona, following his initial performance at Primavera Sound. This unreleased track features a fusion of upbeat elements from Tame Impala's last album, "The Slow Rush", combined with dance pop influences reminiscent of his collaborations with artists like Dua Lipa. Parker, who hasn't released a new album in five years, has remained active, winning his first Grammy and inventing a new instrument.
"Do you guys want to hear a new Tame Impala song?," Parker asked the eager crowd in the midst of his DJ set. "You're gonna be the first ones to hear it, you realize... there's no going back from this point on."
The thumping, house-inspired track seems to split the difference between the most upbeat modes of Tame Impala's last album and his dance pop-centered production work.
