The Ambies will recognize Sam Sanders with the Impact Award at its Fifth Annual Awards for Excellence in Audio in Chicago, hosted by Tig Notaro. Ira Glass will also be honored with the Governor's Award. The ceremony celebrates podcasting's unique ability to convey stories, with 199 nominees across 28 categories. Christy Mirabal lauds Sanders for his skill in making news accessible and cultivating critical conversations. Previously, Sanders was notable for his work at NPR and has co-hosted acclaimed podcasts like Vibe Check and The Sam Sanders Show, which was recognized by The New York Times in 2022.
