Kim Gordon Reworks "Bye Bye" Into Trump Protest Song, Shares New Video
Briefly

Kim Gordon has transformed her lead single "Bye Bye" into a protest anthem titled "Bye Bye 25!" against President Trump. The new lyrics replace personal packing lists with words deemed unacceptable by the administration, highlighting cultural and societal issues impacted by Trump's policies. The track promotes awareness for the upcoming "No Kings" protests, with proceeds benefiting a nonprofit supporting reproductive rights. Gordon criticizes the administration’s censorship and cancel culture, noting specific banned terms like "female" and "immigrants" that have serious implications for various organizations including the CDC and NASA.
[Producer and collaborator] Justin Raisen had this idea to redo 'Bye Bye' starting at the end of the song. It occurred to me to use words taken from a site that had all the words that Trump has essentially banned.
The new track arrives ahead of the 'No Kings' protests that are expected to happen nationwide on Saturday, June 14. Proceeds will be donated to reproductive rights nonprofit Noise for Now.
Among the words rattled off in the song are 'female,' 'climate change,' 'Hispanic,' 'women,' 'mental health,' and 'immigrants.' Organizations that have been affected by the president's orders include the CDC and NASA.
I guess Trump does believe in cancel culture, because he is literally trying to cancel culture.
