Cyber crooks busted in NYC for stealing, reselling nearly 1K tickets for $635K, including screwing Swifties out of Eras Tour tickets
Briefly

Tyrone Rose and Shamara P. Simmons have been arrested for allegedly orchestrating a scheme that swindled nearly 1,000 concert tickets worth $635,000, primarily targeting Taylor Swift's high-grossing Eras Tour. Using a loophole, Rose accessed tickets through his job with a StubHub contractor and directed the tickets to Simmons, leading to resale for profit. Prosecutors stated that their actions exploited fans' desire to see top artist performances, and both face charges of grand larceny, computer tampering, and conspiracy, although they're not bail-eligible under state law.
None of those charges are bail-eligible under state law - so Criminal Court Judge Anthony Battisti released the pair.
According to the charges, these defendants tried to use the popularity of Taylor Swift's concert tour and other high-profile events to profit at the expense of others.
The thieving duo allegedly used their access to StubHub's computer system to weasel their way into a secure area for tickets.
