Bruce Springsteen has announced a previously unheard song titled "Repo Man," which will be featured on his upcoming compilation album Tracks II: The Lost Albums, releasing on June 27th. The song is part of the album Somewhere North of Nashville, recorded in 1995 alongside his acclaimed album The Ghost of Tom Joad. This influence is reflected in the album's honky tonk sound, and all 12 tracks from it will be available, showcasing Springsteen's late-1990s country influences. Fans can also look forward to his only tour dates of 2025 shortly after the album's release.
Somewhere North of Nashville was recorded concurrently with Springsteen's 11th studio album, The Ghost of Tom Joad, in the summer of 1995.
At the same time I had this country streak that was also running through those sessions and I ended up making a country record on the side.
All 12 songs from Somewhere North of Nashville will appear on Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a collection of seven previously unheard albums recorded between 1983 and 2018.
'Streets of Philadelphia' got me connected to my socially conscious or topical songwriting. So that's where The Ghost of Tom Joad came from.
