"The Staten Island Ferry is already one of the best-and most scenic-rides in the world, and now it's even better. Whether you're commuting or just taking in the skyline, riders of the original fast and free transit service can once again enjoy their choice of a piping hot coffee or an ice cold brew."
"Concessions on the Staten Island Ferry have long been popular with riders looking to unwind after a long day of work. Their return is a welcome addition for commuters."
Starting March 27, passengers on the Staten Island Ferry can once again purchase beer, hard seltzers, and canned cocktails alongside snacks. Alcoholic beverages were unavailable since 2019, marking a return to a popular tradition for many riders. City officials view this as part of efforts to enhance the passenger experience, which previously included the return of coffee and snacks. The ferry serves around 45,000 passengers daily, and concessions have been a significant aspect of its culture.
