It feels weird to say Sylvester Stallone was miscast in Tulsa King, a show that exists for the sole reason that Sylvester Stallone is in it.
Despite its usually light tone, Tulsa King is, after all, the story of a mafia captain taking over a city through extortion and violence, which doesn't quite work with Stallone.
Through no fault of his own, Stallone is a born babyface. He simply doesn't seem mean enough to be a gangster, which feels artificial in his role.
There's a disconnect between Stallone and the mob boss role, making it feel like Stallone is pretending, and a talented cast is pretending along with him.
