How I planned the perfect alternative honeymoon
Briefly

Our lovely waiter Matthew chose our dishes for us and we were taken aback dish after dish. Never did I think I'd ever say this, but the Brussels sprout dish was the standout. Chef Lateisha knows what she's doing with that menu.
A huge contrast to our time in Jamaica, we spent our days exploring as much of the city as possible. We visited the many museums and galleries of Wynwood and soaked in the city's renowned Art Deco architecture.
We were worried that we had planned the trip in the wrong order, but looking back on our honeymoon it left us inspired and incredibly connected, proving that our city adventure was just as rejuvenating as our peaceful start in Jamaica.
For couples planning their own post-wedding escapes, I would recommend choosing destinations that reflect your unique tastes. Food, music and culture are our non-negotiables and this trip ticked all of our boxes and more.
