Metropolis Steak & Seafood, located in Staten Island, will close on May 11, 2023. Co-proprietor Richie Holmes described the closure as bittersweet but positive, inviting patrons for a final celebration. Economic factors contributed to the decision, with the high cost of steak and a lack of business during certain seasons impacting sustainability. Post-closure, Holmes will focus on a new Detroit-style pizza venture called Fat Sal's and will later relaunch his Juicy Lucy barbecue restaurants for delivery and takeout.
