Washington's Dupont Circle was a longstanding hub of LGBTQ+ social and political activity, but has seen the loss of community staples post-pandemic, with LGBTQ+ activity now rising in the Shaw neighborhood.
Shaw neighborhood has welcomed new LGBTQ+ nightlife spots and will have a 7,000-square-foot warehouse transformed into a center for LGBTQ+ organizations, offering services and housing Capital Pride Alliance and the D.C. LGBTQ+ Community Center.
