The Davis Center at Harlem Meer, costing $160 million, will open on April 26, featuring New York City's eighth-largest swimming pool and a winter ice skating rink. This project is a significant addition to Central Park's north end, presenting year-round access to diverse, free or low-cost programming. The swimming facility, Gottesman Pool, will open in late June, transforming into an ice rink during winter, while also serving as a public green space, Harlem Oval, in transitional seasons. This center reflects a strong historical connection between Harlem and Central Park.
The Davis Center is the culmination of the Central Park Conservancy's more than 40 years of restoration and investment in Central Park's north end, and this new facility... one of the most beautiful and innovative additions to the city's civic infrastructure in decades.
Harlem and northern Manhattan have a deep and historic connection to the beauty of Central Park. This stunning new facility offers everyone year-round access to world-class facilities and programming.
Managed by the New York City Parks Department, Gottesman Pool will be completely free to access and... convert into an ice rink during the colder months.
The new Davis Center at the Harlem Meer will also host a diverse range of majority free and low-cost programming throughout the year... from lawn games to wellness and fitness classes.
