Religion and politics create the sharpest divides over LGBTQ+ Americans, poll shows

Three out of four Democrats view LGBTQ+ influence positively, compared to 77% of Republicans who see it as somewhat or very negative. Two-thirds of Protestants view LGBTQ+ influence negatively, while 69% of those with no religion see it as positive.
Political and religious affiliations significantly influence Americans' perspectives on LGBTQ+ rights. The division is more pronounced based on being in red or blue America or worshipping in certain religious settings.
