Retired nurses Mable St. John and Karen Baxter-Rhoades visited New York City from Texas and encountered a stressful situation when St. John left her iPad on the subway. After tracking it, the pair sought help from MTA workers, who couldn’t reach the necessary channels to retrieve it. Fortunately, NYPD Chief of Transit Joseph Gulotta and Lt. Michael Scally assisted the distraught women, highlighting the supportive nature of the transit police and creating a memorable story out of a potentially distressing experience for the visitors.
