Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, two Israeli Embassy staff members, were tragically killed by a pro-Palestinian gunman outside the Capital Jewish Museum. The incident occurred after they attended a reception and has left the embassy community heartbroken. Lischinsky, who was planning to propose to Milgrim, had recently purchased an engagement ring. Both were dedicated professionals; Lischinsky served in the political department, and Milgrim worked in public diplomacy. The suspected shooter, Elias Rodriguez, shouted politically charged slogans during his arrest.
Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues. They were in the prime of their lives. This evening, a terrorist shot and killed them as they exited an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in DC.
Lischinsky planned to propose to Milgrim during a trip next week in Jerusalem. He bought the ring this week.
