In Brooklyn, you can party like it's the Borscht Belt in 1963 - Jewish Telegraphic Agency
Briefly

The Jewish Catskills' nostalgic essence is being celebrated in Brooklyn with the "Catskills, BK: Dirtier Dancing" event. On June 17, The Neighborhood will host a rooftop party at the Moxy Hotel, inspired by the film "Dirty Dancing." The event includes live klezmer music, themed cocktails, and traditional Jewish food, creating a festive atmosphere reminiscent of summer vacations in the Catskills. Director Rebecca Guber emphasizes creating a blend of nostalgia and contemporary Brooklyn culture, rooted in her personal connection to the Jewish Catskill community and its historical significance.
"We wanted to really think about something that felt like summer, and Jewish, and the Borscht Belt is that, right?" said Rebecca Guber.
"We're harkening back to a certain nostalgia, but also trying to make it feel part of Brooklyn."
Guber's love of the Jewish Catskills is an authentic one - she and her family summer at Rosmarin's Bungalow Colony.
Catskills, BK: Dirtier Dancing" will feature live klezmer and swing music, thematic cocktails, and a drag show.
