Alaska Thunderf**k, famed for winning RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 2 and her recent film God Save the Queens, shares how legendary Liza Minnelli became involved with her Off-Broadway production, DRAG: The Musical. Originally approached for a voiceover role, Minnelli expressed a desire to not only take on a bigger voice role but also to serve as a producing partner. Alaska describes Minnelli's contributions as transformative, making her feel like a guardian angel for the show, enhancing the experience for audiences.
We were looking for someone who has an iconic voice, and someone who's a showbiz icon to do this short voiceover part we have in the show, a narrator at the beginning.
And she went, 'No, I don't want to do just this voiceover part. I want you to write a second voiceover part for me, because [just one] isn't enough things to say.'
