Holocaust survivor Manfred tells tale of tragedy and two miracles
Briefly

Manfred, a 94-year-old Holocaust survivor, shared his harrowing experiences during a fundraising event for Jewish Care's Green Holocaust Survivors Centre. He was imprisoned in five Nazi concentration camps during WWII, depicting the cruelty of his early life in the Riga ghetto and slave labor under harsh conditions. Miraculously, he reunited with his mother during a death march just before the war's end. After relocating to London, he rebuilt his life, now highlighting the importance of community support at the centre, which fosters friendships and cultural events among survivors.
The friendships that develop are as precious as family. Many of us are now elderly, less mobile and living alone. But the therapy and support is unique.
It meant being forced to work as slave labour repairing damaged railway tracks bombed during Allied air raids. Then a miracle.
