Rev. Adaly Rosado, a 40-year-old priest from Staten Island, has received a surprise assignment to St. Joan of Arc R.C. Church in the Bronx. Previously a parochial vicar at St. Christopher and St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church, he expressed his shock at the decision, likening the priesthood to military service. Notably, he returns to the Bronx, where he has deep personal connections, including being baptized and confirmed there. Father Rosado will also work alongside Rev. Paul LeBlanc, a significant mentor in his life. He feels a strong sense of excitement about this new chapter, marking a return to his roots.
"I don't know what happened behind the scenes; I didn't know this was happening," he said.
"He's probably the main reason I became a priest," he said. "He actually wrote the letter for me to enter seminary."
"I'm excited; I'm going back home," Father Rosado said. "I left there when I was 19. I'm going back as a 40-year-old, so that's pretty cool."
