Drag Race stars condemn Met Police's handling of drag queen's death
Briefly

More than 100 people rallied for justice for drag queen Heklina, who was found dead in 2023 and whose case has drawn criticism of the Metropolitan Police. Friends and LGBTQ+ advocates marched, condemning the police's delayed responses and alleged homophobia. Speakers included prominent figures from the community who emphasized the need for fairness in treatment and accountability. The protest highlighted ongoing concerns over police actions and called for changes to how queer individuals are treated, as friends expressed frustration over the lack of proper investigation into Heklina's death.
Heklina was one of my oldest and closest friends... finding her dead in London was truly traumatising, but it has only been made worse by the complete lack of attention from the Met Police.
London Met, we're not done yet... Queer safety over police power, We deserve justice, not discrimination, and Pride, not prejudice, hold the Met accountable.
