The Pro-Ject Flatten It Uses Heat to Fix Warped Records
Briefly

Pro-Ject has introduced an innovative solution for vinyl enthusiasts dealing with warped records: the Flatten It, a dedicated vinyl flattening machine. Designed with two hot plates, it restores vinyl to its original shape by applying gentle heat. The machine maintains a precise temperature of 136.4°F (58°C) for an extended period, which helps flatten records effectively. Users can adjust pressing times based on the vinyl's thickness. With this product, Pro-Ject aims to make vinyl restoration accessible and efficient, encouraging collectors to breathe new life into their cherished albums.
It's hard enough to set up a turntable or pick the right player, but fixing a warped record without specialized tooling has long been too much of a pain to be worth it for most.
Pro-Ject has just launched preorders for the Flatten It, its first dedicated vinyl flattening machine, which promises to restore warped records effectively.
Once heated for around an hour, it will maintain a temperature of 136.4 degree Fahrenheit (58 Celsius) and gently iron out any vinyl warping.
How long you press a record for will depend on the thickness of the vinyl, with thicker records requiring longer pressing times.
