Proceeds will benefit the Zakir Hussain Institute of Music. The concert reflects his close ties to the Bay Area, where he lived for many years, ensuring a heartfelt homage to his artistic legacy.
His instruments were like the rains, dense sheets of sounds performed like blurs of lightning-fast fingers on small, tuned drums, said Mickey Hart.
