The band worked tirelessly on their music while waiting for their first album's release. They created much of the Big Calm album during late-night sessions, including the song The Sea. Despite their hard work and the album's eventual double platinum status, the record company lost confidence in releasing The Sea as a single. The band remained proud of their success as an underground group, with Big Calm spending a year in the Top 40 without any hit singles.
