Worrying is my hobby': Shura on overcoming injuries, writer's block and being dropped twice by her label
Briefly

Shura, now embracing her 'Muscle Mummy' era, faced personal and physical challenges while creating her new album, 'I Got Too Sad for My Friends'. After injuring her knee during jujitsu class, which added to her previous struggles with writer's block and delays due to illness, she crafted this album, exploring themes of melancholy with a mix of humor. The title reflects her personality, hinting at a deeper sadness entwined with light-heartedness. Her previous album, 'Forevher', also touched on significant themes but didn’t receive the recognition she felt it deserved due to pandemic setbacks.
Muscle Mummy era partly inspired by the Kristen Stewart-starring, queer bodybuilding thriller Love Lies Bleeding.
There’s a little sense of humour to it but, at the same time, if you examine it, it may be slightly devastating.
