Why Gothenburg Is Sweden's Festival Capital
Briefly

Arrival at Göteborg Landvetter Airport is fast and efficient, enabling travelers to reach central Gothenburg shortly after landing. Way Out West takes place in Slottsskogen city park and features an international line-up of emerging artists alongside stadium-filling superstars. The city offers widespread English proficiency, short flight times from London (just over 90 minutes) and quick transfers to hotels in the city centre, making Gothenburg suitable for impromptu weekend trips. Festival attendance avoids lengthy camping or long commutes by combining urban accommodation with a large park venue. Diverse line-ups cater to eclectic musical tastes while logistics remain practical and welcoming.
It was almost midnight and I had 20 minutes to get from the plane to the bus terminal for the ride to central Gothenburg. If this was any other city I would have been busy looking up alternative timetables and downloading ride sharing apps but I didn't need to worry at all. I was through security, had my passport stamped and was on the bus with 5 minutes to spare.
I was here in Scandinavia for Way Out West, the popular music festival which boasts an international line-up of emerging artists and stadium-filling superstars. I was also here to discover more about the host city which I knew very little about before planning this trip. Thankfully everyone seems to speak perfect English making this the ideal impromptu destination if you want to visit somewhere convenient at the drop of a hat.
