Yungmiqu, known as Mihkku Laiti, established a music festival in Utsjoki to promote Sámi culture through performances in the Sámi language. Rapper Yungmiqu, also known as Mihkku Laiti, founded the event in Utsjoki to share Sámi culture through music, performing in the Sámi language.
Despite changing weather in the fells, audiences gathered under the midnight sun on 6 July, enjoying performances mixing rap, folk, and tango.
The festival, held near the Arctic Ocean and across the river from Norway, provides a rare stage for contemporary Sámi voices.
