Usher Thinks You Deserve a Drink-in a Crystal Glass He Designed Himself
""I've always collected [Baccarat] glasses. So being able to create my own feels not only like a great collaboration, but also a pivot for me into another space as a designer," Usher tells AD. The French brand's iconic tumblers hold special meaning for the singer, whose performance rituals have long involved a toast before or after a show with the crystal."
"He sought to honor past Baccarat collaborators like Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, and late friend Virgil Abloh with his creation, but Usher's off-kilter design is imbued with his own signature swagger. "The glass actually tilts, and part of the idea was the fact that in life you're going to have tough moments, but here's a toast to take the edge off," he notes. "For me, it's a celebration of passion, purpose, and connection." As for his drink of choice? "Anything, but just add cherries.""
Usher began carrying a glass onstage during his first Las Vegas residency and continued the gesture at the 2025 Met Gala, the Super Bowl halftime after party, and various fashion week events. He designed a Baccarat crystal tumbler drawn from a personal collection of the brand's glasses. The tumbler tilts to symbolize facing tough moments and offering a toast to ease them. The design pays homage to past Baccarat collaborators such as Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí, and Virgil Abloh while reflecting Usher's personal swagger and performance rituals. He prefers drinks with cherries.
