FKA Twigs's latest album, Eusexua, released on January 24, embodies her interdisciplinary approach to art as well as a reflection on what it means to be human. The album's creation was influenced significantly by her experiences in Prague, where she connected with the local underground dance community. Twigs discovered healing and camaraderie through raving, which inspired the spirit of her music. Despite not being strictly a techno album, Eusexua evokes the essence of techno culture while combining various creative expressions such as video teasers and live events.
"In Prague, I discovered a raw community of all different types of people altogether wanting to rid themselves of their demons, of their negativity, and felt that through going out and raving every single weekend, through the weekend, I was able to heal myself."
"I have been making my album in cabs in berlin, huts in big sur, caves in ibiza, roads in hackney. I have written lyrics by lakes in prague and in the toilets of raves with a biro on the back of my hand."
