Peter Murphy, the iconic frontman of Bauhaus, has collaborated with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails on a new track called 'Swoon,' which will feature on Murphy's upcoming album 'Silver Shade.' Merging dance-punk rhythms with Murphy's haunting vocals, the song embodies both artists' distinctive styles. Scheduled for release on May 9th, 'Silver Shade' has been described by Murphy as his most powerful work to date. The song also showcases Reznor's contribution through backing vocals, highlighting their long-standing connection dating back to 1990.
"I am both in the state of swoon as are my audience when witnessing my live performance," said Murphy in a statement.
Murphy called the record 'as powerful as any of my work to date.'
Trent Reznor cordially accepted my invitation to appear on the song, adding a welcome vibe on the second verse.
The throwback '80s production befits both the goth-rock pioneer and his collaborator, Reznor.
