Known offstage as John Schuster, the 30-year-old was working in accounting before turning to his music career full time. He started his own label and events brand called Off the Grid, now known as Experts Only, and worked with artists such as Florida duo Sofi Tukker, Australian DJ Dom Dolla and British producer Sub Focus.
Summit's collaboration with British singer Hayla, 'Where You Are,' made Barack Obama's list of favorite songs from last year, showcasing his rising influence in the electronic music scene.
His fall appearance will add Summit to the long list of dance artists such as Kaytranada, Fisher and Four Tet who have also played the Daly City venue, a trend highlighting the growing EDM events in the Bay Area.
Summit is regarded by many as one of EDM's most promising rising stars. He has performed at significant venues and festivals like Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival.
