The Musician Behind Some Of Sonic's Most Iconic Music Is Suing Sega
Briefly

Johnny Gioeli, the vocalist of Crush 40, has filed a lawsuit against Sega, claiming they used his song "Live & Learn" without proper licensing, despite a contract.
The lawsuit, filed on December 5, alleges that Sega breached its contract by using the song in various games like Sonic Generations and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate without compensating Gioeli adequately.
Gioeli maintains that he personally registered the copyright for the song and was only made aware through a fan in 2024 about its additional uses beyond Sonic Adventure 2.
The vocalist seeks legal clarification on the ownership of the song's master and compensation for its multiple uses outside of the original Sonic Adventure 2.
